Project goal.
The aim of the project is to reduce market barriers for VR/AR applications in healthcare across less developed European regions by closing value-chain gaps in five SMEs and by tailoring innovation support services for other SMEs in the healthcare VR/AR sector.
The project will raise the technology readiness level of VR/AR innovations from TRL 6 to TRL 9 in the areas of medical navigation during surgery, therapeutic immersive games, performance assessment, education of physicians and students, and the adaptation of VR headsets for medical use.
The project aims to:
- reduce the innovation gap between developed and less developed regions of Europe,
- prepare the healthcare sector for the next technological transformation,
- integrate European XR innovations into healthcare cost-reduction systems through interregional cooperation, the creation of new European value chains and the easing of market barriers, drawing on the complementary strengths of the partnership.
The project is carried out by a consortium of 17 partners from Portugal, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Latvia, Hungary and Poland.
Within the project, the company is responsible for advancing VR/AR medical navigation technology for intraoperative use, so that surgeons can access more precise imaging and real-time information, increasing the accuracy and safety of surgical procedures.
The project has received funding from the Interregional Innovation Investments (I3) instrument as part of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under Grant Agreement No. 101161333.
