First procedures using CarnaLife Holo at the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice.

On 19 August 2024 the first procedures using CarnaLife Holo mixed reality 3D holographic imaging technology were performed at the Clinic of the University Dental Centre of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice. The procedures were carried out by a team of specialists led by Professor Małgorzata Skucha-Nowak.

The CarnaLife Holo system uses Microsoft HoloLens 2 goggles, which enable interactive 3D visualisation of the patient's diagnostic imaging data. On that day two procedures were performed using MedApp's software: extraction of an impacted tooth and a periodontal procedure on a patient diagnosed with periodontitis.

Using CarnaLife Holo together with HoloLens 2 improved precision in planning and performing the procedures. The 3D holographic visualisation of the CT scan made it possible to clearly see the maxillofacial structures – including bone, teeth and nerves – allowing the procedures to be carried out precisely without damaging the surrounding tissue.

CarnaLife Holo is already used in many medical specialties, including surgery, cardiology and orthopaedics. The growing number of specialties using our software reinforces our belief that the medical market needs this type of solution to meet the challenges of modern healthcare.
